A quarter is shown for scale.
My goal here is to help educate the people of West Texas about this new Digital Television thing. And I may, from time-to-time, post about the technical or asthetic qualities of specific broadcasts. As a final word of caution, I'm not above off-the-wall comments. Les

hand clamp? spring closure?
it is for holding hot pans. we used them at the pizza place to hold the hot deep dish pans while you wrangled the pizza out with a spatula...only place i've ever seen them.
For pizza pans, huh? I don't think I woulda ever guessed that. Thanks for the comments.
remember back to your very early days when mom sterilize your glass baby bottles.

I can almost see a baby bottle picker upper in this thing... But, the appearance that the nose closes flush indicates it was designed to grasp something very thin - maybe pizza pan thin but not-so-much baby bottle glass thin. The lack of black/burned stuff though, like you see on a well-used pizza pan, leads me to believe this tool was used for something else. The angle of the grip also seems to be a little off for removing pizzas from an oven which is usually about chest high.
I really have no idea what this thing was designed to be used for.
